Not that he got kidnapped a lot!
Or... not like, all the time, at any rate. His being kidnapped seemed to have increased lately, but he attributed that to being distracted more often than usual because of school. Sure, he’d had high school to contend with back in the day, but high school was less demanding than university. He always watched movies where people were out partying it up or solving crime or having huge campus-wide mass murders or whatever and all Stiles wanted to know was where they found the time.
To be fair, most of them didn’t have the Supernatural breathing down their neck, or a pack constantly coming to them for advice. Like he was the poster child of good decisions, who was dumb enough to believe that? His best friend was a Werewolf because of all his so-called ‘good decisions.’

He watched Stiles for a long heartbeat; his own head slightly cocked as he listened to Stiles’s heart simmer back from the enraged crescendo it’d worked itself into. When it settled back to something sad and steady, like the vibration on a string instrument, Derek offered an uncertain echo of Laura’s words. “We’ll work this out, Stiles.”

Stiles is pretty sure he’s hallucinating. He’s got to be. There’s no other plausible explanation, he thinks, as he sits on the sidelines of the lacrosse field and feels the cold, hard bench underneath him, the roar of the crowd at his back like the worst white noise machine in the world.
There’s no other reason why he sees it, the hulking, black figure of a wolf peering at him from the treeline behind the bleachers. Its eyes flare in the glaring glow of the stadium lights, but they’re the wrong color, he thinks: blood-moon red instead of cobalt blue, but the familiarity of it all makes his stomach roll and clench.

Summary
Stiles has recently been practicing an incredibly useful little trick kind of akin to a cloaking spell. When he uses it, not even the wolves with their annoyingly nosy super-senses can find him. So far, his experiments with it have not only been informative but also incredibly entertaining.
Because it was more than a little bit satisfying to pop in out of nowhere and give the pack just a little taste of all the near-heart attacks Stiles has suffered over the years from all their dramatic werewolf spontaneous entrances and exits, disappearances and reappearances.
Plus, Scott totally screams like a girl and now Stiles isn’t the only one who knows (appearing from behind the shower curtain right as Scott was about to climb in had accomplished that).
The only person he could never seem to get the jump on was Derek.

“So... that’s it. You’re all done here?” Stiles had tried to keep his voice neutral as he leant his back onto the wall, placing one foot on it to balance him.
“Yeah. I sent all my stuff ahead. I doubt Cora will unpack for me though,” Derek told him.
“No, I doubt it. She’s probably too busy running naked through the woods,” Stiles shuddered.
“Oh my god, do you have to?” Derek had grimaced. “That’s my sister.”
“Sorry! I’m not thinking about her naked I swear,” Stiles protested, holding his hands up.
Derek had cocked an eyebrow at him.
“I’m not lying! Feel!” Stiles yanked on Derek’s arm until his hand popped out of his pocket and he’d dragged him closer, placing Derek’s palm over his heart.
Derek had made a soft sound of surprise, but he’d allowed the manhandling and he crowded in closer to Stiles.
Stiles hadn’t thought it through because the second Derek’s hips were inches from his and Derek’s stupid, lovely face was all up in his, his heart had begun pounding erratically.
