Summary
As Nancy stands on the front porch of Jonathan’s house, breathing hard, she can actually hear the moment things return to normal. The sounds of the night return like a switch has been flicked, and she can’t believe she missed the sounds of the crickets. She starts to lower the gun, although her finger never leaves the trigger.
Somewhere to her right, Steve lets out a shaky breath.
“Uh, Jonathan? Is your mom dead?”

Summary
Nancy is cursed. Or at least she thinks so. After Barb’s disappearance, it doesn’t feel out of the question given the path of terror and tragedy that follows her every waking moment of every waking day. After Fred, her newfound partner-in-news, vanishes into thin air, Nancy’s theory seems to become more than that (at least, to her anyway). While talking to police officers whose answers sound more like questions, Nancy feels the last grasp of her sanity slipping away, until Steve Harrington drives up in his wagon of misfit Mikes.
(based on Episode 3 of Stranger Things 4 Vol.1 where Nancy sees Steve and the Hawkins kids after speaking to the police post-Fred's death)

Summary
Steve could only stare at their hands atop the table, Nancy’s having grabbed his soon after they’d sat down. Her hand was wrapped around his fingers, his thumb brushing occasional reassuring strokes across the back of hers.
It didn’t mean anything, he knew. It was just a sign of comfort at most, a reminder that she wasn’t alone. And he was okay with that. He’d hold her hand as long as she let him and would cherish every second.
Or: Nancy cleans Steve's wounds, and Steve comforts Nancy after her episode with Vecna.

“The flirting is a purely business endeavor, Wheeler. I get paid commission for every movie I rent out.” He tosses the copy aside and leans his forearms on the counter.
“Well then you’re making a fortune off me, huh?”
Steve turns his head to the side endearingly. “My most loyal customer.”
Nancy just grins, wincing a bit at the reminder of her recent late night escapades. For the past three weeks since Vecna was defeated, she has spent more time in this store than she’s spent asleep in her own bed. It started with the movies, with needing a distraction. After.. everything, and then the Jonathan thing on top of it all… It’s reasonable to need a distraction, right? But she’s got plenty of movies at home. Mike’s collection of action movies could certainly keep her up for at least a week straight. There’s no need for the constant trips. (If not simply for the company).
(Nancy doesn’t want to think about that).
______After everything, Steve and Nancy slowly fall back together.

“What?” Jonathan prods in frustration. “You’re breaking up with me, right? No need to drag it out, just…”
Nancy feels like she might leave this conversation with her brows permanently stuck together in confusion. Her heart falls into her stomach out of pure shock. “Who said anything about breaking up?”

Something hot and sharp pierces his chest, filling him to the brim with some weighty emotion he can’t name. It’s uncomfortable in its depth, vast and all-encompassing and a lot like love. He pushes it all aside, swipes a hand through his hair. “Just returning the favor- you follow me into hell, I get you out of it, huh? Quid pro quo, or some shit, right?”

Summary
She’s changed so much since this all began- she’s hardened, brazened. Nancy is tough and independent, something Steve has learned the hard way. But it’s only in this moment that he sees just how vulnerable she still is, and he wants to kick himself for it. How could he let his guard down? How could he drag them all down here? How could he let her become a target?
The others are yelling at him, he registers distantly, and he wishes he were more like Dustin and Nancy- he wishes he could think clearly in moments like this, when it mattered.
But all he can think about is Springsteen in his car and Nancy’s sweet voice and a smile that was just for him.
And so he sings.

Summary
It’s the middle of the night, a red glow is filtering through the curtains, and Nancy once again finds herself naked in Steve Harrington’s bed, watching him leave.
He’s sat at the end of the mattress, leaning to pull on his discarded socks, his shirt still missing in the rubble of the evening’s activities. If he knows she’s awake, he doesn’t acknowledge it, which leaves Nancy to stare at the expanse of his back- at the freckles she can spot even in the dark, and the angry marks she’s left against his shoulder blades.
The sight isn’t unfamiliar.Steve never sticks around for long these days. And wishing he would stay is a solitary, selfish pastime of Nancy’s.
