Maverick has this problem. Well, it may not necessarily be a problem per say, it could just be something he’s overthinking or putting too much meaning into. Really, it could just be a curious situation that he’s beginning to work himself up over for nothing.
Bradley was touching him. All the time. Maverick could barely wander around the hangar without the younger man trailing behind him, pressing in close to him as he watched Maverick do whatever it is he was doing while keeping his arms wrapped around him or a hand on his back.
And it was starting to drive Maverick absolutely fucking crazy.

“That is everything I want,” Maverick vowed. “And I swear, no more secrets. Total honesty from now on.”
Rooster nodded, relieved. Yes, that was exactly what he needed—for Maverick to respect him enough to be open with him, no more trying to “protect” him or “shelter” him from the truth. If they’d just be honest with each other, everything else would work itself out. He was sure of it.
…Of course, in a couple of weeks, he’d look back on that certainty and shake his head at the naivete of his younger self. Man, he had no clue what he was in for.
