Bucky knows long before Steve comes to talk to him.
Over the years he has grown accustomed to the tell-tale signs of Steve thinking too hard and when he slowly reclaimed his memories, that was one of the easiest parts. Like his body never quite unlearned Steves’.“I’ve been thinking”, Steve says, voice low like he’s afraid he’ll be overheard by someone.
“Shocker”, Bucky replies dryly. That earns him a small smile and Steves shoving Buckys foot with his own halfheartedly. It bumps against Buckys leg and stays there.

His patience finally came to an end, when, after three hours of having sat in the mud waiting for Hydra agents that didn’t show up and then returning to the small car, Bucky put on this way too curious, confused look and said: “Hey, Sam. Who’s Riley?”
He had likely overheard the name or saw it in a report. But still, it was too much.
“Okay, this is it”, Sam whispered, eyes closed.**
When Bucky and Sam have to stay at a farmhouse together, strange things ensue - and they might even fall in love.

"I usually end up driving 'round town for a few hours. It clears my head. Makes me feel better." Steve huffed an embarrassed laugh. "Sometimes I drive past everyone's houses, just to see… I dunno. It's not like I go in, so I can't see if they're all okay. But it just…" He trailed off. "It just helps, I guess. Seeing the lights out in their rooms." He looked over at Eddie. "Yours are almost always on though. 'S weird."
Eddie blinked several times. "You drive past my place?" He was weirdly touched. He couldn't even find it in himself to make a stupid joke about it.

When nightmares wake him every night, Steve weirdly becomes the solution to Eddie's problem. Eddie never expected to be riding in cars with King Steve, but here he fuckin' was.

Spending time with Eddie Munson would have seemed ridiculous a few years ago, but Steve figured a lot had changed since then. Plus it wasn't like it was a big deal - it was just two guys hanging out.
When it soon turns into something more, Steve realizes that his feelings for Eddie go beyond friendship, and has to figure out what that ultimately means for both of them.

“At least it isn’t a Bug,” Bucky says, and that’s really the only bright side to the absolute clusterfuck of the past few days other than the not being dead thing, isn’t it.
Sam snorts. Pats the dashboard. Says, “Yeah, looks like your legs have a bit more space, huh.” Thinks better of reaching over to touch Bucky’s knee to prove it.
Bucky glares at him, and all things considered, it’s almost comforting.
