Jaskier will die and there is nothing Geralt can do to stop it.
The seconds trickle between them.
Then Jaskier’s eyes light up. “Which way do I go? In the dream?”
Geralt stares at him in confusion for a heartbeat, then says, “Left.”
“So let’s beat it.” And Jaskier gives Geralt a grin that would have been bloody were this a dream. Then Jaskier’s hands release him and he goes right, vanishing into the forest.
Nothing good ever comes of bad dreams. Jaskier may be the exception to the rule.
