It hadn’t occurred to Vanessa before, how quickly the consequences of one’s actions can arrive. It was almost a relief, how fast karmic payback was rolling in, it meant that the universe could make things right. It really had just been a joke though, at the time.
Gregory insists on coming back to the Pizzaplex to help Freddy (and maybe to try and run away with him in tow this time) so Vanessa tries to make things right with him by making him an intern. She has to make sure her own mess gets cleaned up too, after all. Sun is waiting for things to get back to normal. Moon is still hearing a voice from under the floor. The voice from under the Pizzaplex is seizing their next opportunity.

He almost didn't recognize himself. Didn't recognize the shaggy brunette mullet that fell in waves around his neck and the tops of his shoulders. The spattering of freckles that marred his barely-tanned face. The silver eyes that had always been his father's and never truly his. Hell, even the baggy uniform for that damn Rentals place was the exact same as he had remembered it- light purple and wrinkled to hell and back, a shoddily made name tag reading 'Mike S' in bolded gold lettering clipped to it. He even wore the same pair of navy jeans that he remembers being torn apart in. He didn't look a day over fifteen.

For Gregory's whole night in the pizzaplex, he's had to deal with murderous animatronics, a suspicious security guard, an even more suspicious stranger prancing in a rabbit costume, and Freddy's odd nuggets of wisdom.
And by odd, he did mean odd.
"Please do not make it a habit to enter inside an animatronic, you may die."
(He proceeds to use Freddy's stomach hatch as a hideout regardless and the animatronic becomes resigned to it.)
