Alternate Universe where babies can survive cryosleep; Spider was sent back to Earth instead of being raised on Pandora.
At age fifteen, Spider finds himself in danger of being sent to prison, a fate worse than death in Earth’s unregulated, RDA-funded labor camps. Desperate for freedom, he lies about his age to enlist in the RDA and escape to Pandora. Spider thinks he’s finally found a place where he belongs, but his newfound refuge is soon shattered when he’s taken prisoner by none other than the race-traitor terrorist, Jake Sully— the man who orphaned him.

“So. You are their newest Corporal,” Ao’nung said. He glanced down at my vest then, which had badges that indicated my name and rank. I didn’t think he could read them – how could he? Who would have taught him? I wasn’t sure, but given he was speaking English, someone had to be teaching him something.
“Ao’nung,” I said, through my teeth. “You animal. Do you have any idea how savage what you just did was?”
He smacked the side of my face, silencing me. He leaned in closer then, inches from my face, eyes smoldering.
“What I did was savage?” he seethed.
Or...
The Corporal who will one day be known as Neteyam has just been taken captive by Ao'nung, the lead warrior of the Metkayina, and the one the Na'vi refer to as Caller of the Tulkun. His mission is simple: Build rapport with his captor, earn his trust, and try to escape. But as time passes, the Corporal begins to question everything he thought he knew about the Na'vi, and who he once was - but no longer is.

The top agents in MI6 are Angels - there's nothing angelic about them, but they sure are dangerous. And not always good with taking orders from bespectacled, stringy Quartermasters.
MI6 has decided that a new strategy is needed to ensure the success of their missions, and for that, they hired Q: with his genius mind and [mostly] cool head, it became his job to coordinate the 00-missions.
Now the double-o's have a voice in their ear telling them what to do, where to go on missions.
Do the double-o's take well to this?
No. And the worst ones are 006, 7, and 8...In which Q's got a spine and is willing to beat double-o's over the head with it.

Summary
In the grand scheme of things, being trained by her father for a war that was never going to come seemed like the worst that could happen to Charlie. She was wrong. Now she's drifting, literally, in fucking space, with a murderous alien, and very little confidence of making it home. But that's fine. Totally fine. She has years of bitter and vindictive violence built up - and a strong desire to take a certain alien asshole with her when she goes.
Ta'Kesh was irritated when his hunt was interrupted. Especially by an inconsequential human. Now he is downright livid, because the damn thing keeps trying to kill him, and she is unnervingly adept. All he wanted was to restore honor to his outstanding ic'jit hunt by making the human pay for her actions - releasing her on a neighboring moon and hunting her himself.
