As he kept going through a world which was disconnected from the way it used to be once upon a time, he held onto this naive thought.
He trained and fought. Killed and slaughtered. Laughed and cried. Lived and eventually died.
Like an endless loop which reset when he died to the very start of this hell, he experienced the same tragedies over and over again. He would wake up in the very same subway train. Meet the same people who fought alongside him. Yet after just a few regression turns, he lost his confidence in calling them 'companions'.
