"Lots of things make it hard for you to focus." Oscar didn't look away. "But honestly? I'm trying to figure out what's going on in that head of yours."
"Having any luck?"
"With mixed success."
They didn't hate each other, though both the media and fans expected them to. But tension thickened the air whenever they were alone together – WDC hanging between them like the elephant in the room.
