The boy hadn't even seen Gerard coming towards him until Gerard stepped on a fallen branch, making a 'crunch' sound.
Gerard screamed a silent 'fuck' in his head as the boy's tear streaked face snapped up, locking eyes with Gerard's.
His intense hazel eyes held so many emotions it was hard for Gerard to distinguish whether the boy was doing this out of anger or sadness.

Because he truly was.
Frank was the one who mostly helped take care of him when he was at the lowest. Minus Mikey of course.But Frank was the one who held Gerard after he had vomited and was too weak to help himself sit upright. He was the one who took the brunt of the anger when Gerard lashed out as the withdrawls wrecked his pathetic body. Never once leaving him alone or taking anything personally.
Now here Gerard was, alcohol in hand and ready to just toss all of that away.
