"I doubt proximity is going to make much of a difference."
Anakin groaned, trying not to let his frustration get the best of him. Something which always proved far more difficult than it should in matters where his apprentice was concerned. "Do you have to question every order I give you, Padawan?"
"Only when I think they're going to get me killed."
"Get you killed? What about me?"
Obi-Wan rolled his eyes, that posh coruscanti accent of his seeming to grow just a little thicker. "You, Master, are one of the youngest Jedi knights on record. Not to mention 'the chosen one,'"—he wrinkled his freckled nose at the title, distaste blended into every word—"You'll be fine."
"Your concern for my safety is overwhelming, Obi-Wan."
"It's merely a result of my appreciation of your skill, Master."

Obi-Wan narrowed his eyes. "Who are you?" He asked, hoping a direct question would yield answers. The old man seemed adept at side-stepping information when asked a bit more deftly. “I’ve never heard of a Master with your level of talent.”
The old man seemed surprised. “If you’ve never heard of one like me, then what good would my name be? You wouldn’t know it.”
Obi-Wan felt a flare of irritation, and quickly squashed it. The old man blinked, as if he hadn’t expected to feel that, and he smiled, sadly. “My name is Luke,” he said, as if a peace offering.
The force trilled in his ear, and Obi-Wan frowned. "Luke what?" He asked, and the old man, this Luke, smiled wryly.
"Luke Skywalker.”

Summary
Instead of being accepted into the Jedi Order at the age of 9, Anakin Skywalker became a ward of Naboo. He figured out the Force on his own by trial-and-error, tracing its will through ancient temples and scriptures. Despite his night terrors and the Clone Wars raging through the galaxy, life was working out just fine for Anakin, thank you very much.
At least, that was before Obi-Wan Kenobi crashed back into his life with unexpected ferocity.

Anakin died. Trouble is, he didn't stay dead. Waking up, he's given a second chance at life, one that he sure as hell doesn't deserve. Though he doesn't want to stick around, he underestimates the lengths that the Force will go to in order to make things right.
Now, in the past and unable to stay dead, Anakin must save the galaxy and the people in it so that balance can be brought about once and for all.

Anakin Skywalker, a student of mechanical engineering, has always felt as if he didn't belong anywhere, a feeling that was made much worse with the deaths of his mother first, and of the woman he loved some time later. Still haunted by the pain and heartbreak, and plagued by strange and disturbing dreams, he tries to go on with his life as well as he can. When an initiative of the director of the university has the students attending the classes of another degree so as to enrich their knowledge, he will meet a certain Mr. Kenobi that will turn his world upside down.
[Canon Divergence/Fix-It of Sorts. A story in which things are not what they seem at first glance, and that will deal with some of the events that took place in canon and ultimately led to Anakin's downfall in ROTS from a different perspective, especially concerning Anakin and Obi-Wan's relationship. A story of second chances.]
