Preview:
The lore of Dazai himself was never talked about between them, even when it seemed like conversation or action came close to the topic. Why the Mackerel was dubbed Hatsugyo (in hindsight it was pretty obvious) due to his many bandages that layered him like another skin, making him, from a distance, appear mummy-like.
And then of course, all of their years spent teasing and pranking each other, spending day after fucking day getting under each other’s skin… Dazai always called him a dog. A running joke fitting his anamorphic spurdog tail. Chuuya knows more about them now than he did before, but something that always stuck with him was how loyal and protective those land dogs are. No matter how insulting Dazai tried to make the comparison seem, it was obviously more complementing and encouraging.

if you don't like the ways characters are protrayed suck it up. this is how my life was when i was eleven years old and i just tweaked a few things. like literally i have a journal from when i was eleven all the way up to thirteen and their are detailed descriptions about my daily weeks.
one of the exmaples i will say is kunikida is protrayed as snobby and rude at one point. Thats because the person in my life at the time that most acted like kunikida, was at some point a little bitch. but again theres something called character development.

Chuuya sits next to him, careful to maintain a little bit of distance, to not crowd him. He sees that one of the drawstrings of Dazai’s hoodie are in his mouth, and with that, it all clicks into place.
“Hey,” Chuuya tries, letting his voice become gentle, a kind of comfort Dazai would usually roll his eyes at. “Are you okay, Bunny?”

It's been some time since Chuuya, Dazai and the others had successfully defeated Shibusawa. After that event, Dazai and Chuuya seemingly have gotten closer, though there is still some tension surrounding them considering the fact that they are in opposing organizations (and the fact that neither have apologized for anything). So when Chuuya comes home after a long day to find his apartment door unlocked, he realizes that his ex-partner has returned to old habits. Kunikida doesn't realise that his partner has a concussion and drags him back to the office for paperwork.Luckily, their local detective is more than observant enough to realise what was going on and he takes it upon himself to stop their newest member from hurting himself even further.
