"She tried not to break down in tears as she ran out the back door and into the rain. Even with the door closed, she could hear the cacophony of music that sent her into sensory overload.
Tears finally sprang to her eyes and streamed down her cheeks as she sat on the dirty, wet sidewalk, hands over her ears like a small child. Her face contorted in terror and anxiety as her sobs turned into frantic gasps. Despite the waterproof mascara, the makeup began washing off from the blessed rain drops drenched her. She shivered as her dress and hair got saturated with the cold rain and found herself utterly alone and abandoned. She just wanted to be home in the safety of her apartment.
“You okay?” she heard deep, growling voice say from behind her, making her jump and whirl around.
It was Gladiolus Amicitia, Shield of the Prince, with a concerned frown on his handsome face."

Summary
This one is a request and under a pseud for a different type of story than what I usually write. This is a dark tale that takes place after the Infinity War but before Avengers 4. Steve Rogers has lost most of those he had left to the snap and loneliness is battle he's losing. What starts out as an honest intention to help a girl who has caught his eye in daily life becomes a dangerous obsession where the lines of what's real and what's fantasy are blurred.

Insomnia destroyed, the Glaives scattered or dead, you are left to fend for yourself in a wartorn Lucis. A refugee turned Glaive turned refugee once more. General Glauca has other ideas though for the little warrior. But maybe she has just what it takes to coax him into the light. This is an emotional battle, sin and hurt and lust careening through Eos. Two monsters in a world of ash coming together in a molten upheaval.
This is not a love story.
