He landed on the floor in a heap of flailing limbs. He rolled to his hands and knees and gagged himself. After throwing up the blood, the intensity of the flames inside him dropped. The pain was still enough to leave him curled up on his side, clutching his chest.
Dave froze. Something hard and sharp pressed against his throat, burning his skin despite being the same temperature as him.
“Give me one reason I shouldn’t kill you.”

After all it would take more than a heat, spent isolated in a small cottage on an idyllic countryside out of the country, to make Snape attracted to Potter, and vice versa. More than a fake courtship to avoid the contract an enterprising Potter ancestor entered into, promising the next Potter Omega to a potentially Dark family to draw them together. More than being expected to explain what being an omega means, to teach and mold the boy's perception of this part of his life, to give life to the alpha instincts Snape rarely acknowledges.
