Summary
Lawrence meets Logan first.
It isn’t an instant connection, by any means--both of them are far too reserved for that--but they get along well enough, in a polite, circumstantial sort of way. Lawrence is certainly the only father in the figure skating parent group, and though Logan isn’t the only father of a youth hockey player, his daughter is one of the few girls out there, setting him apart from the crowd. They both keep to themselves, for the most part, until Diana and Melissa make fast friends during the gap time between their respective lessons about 2 weeks into their programs.
And really, it's all upwards from there.

Gordon leaves Mark in the bathroom with no escape. He's not the only thing Gordon left behind in there, though.
“It’s rough, dying slow, but you get used to it after the first few days. No one’s coming. No one can hear you. Just relax.”
The corpse doesn’t move. It doesn’t move. But the voice is coming from it, or at least, from around it, and Mark figures he must’ve been in here for days already, because there’s absolutely no way he’s completely cracked just hours into imprisonment. He doesn’t consider himself predisposed to psychosis, and he’d additionally like to think he has enough mental fortitude to keep him sane until his death, but.
Adam, that’s this body, he’s pretty sure, is speaking to him. What’s left of Adam, anyways.

“I’m curious, Adam,” Lawrence says through the fine mesh of the confessional, though he keeps his eyes trained on the wood grain of the wall straight ahead of him. “I was wondering if you might…indulge me.”
A priest and a vampire walk into a bar, Adam might say. Stop me if you’ve heard this one before...
Lawrence Gordon is far from the perfect Catholic, predisposed to indulging in his baser nature on occasion. Since the conception of his daughter, though, he's been far more careful, far more resilient in the face of his desires. No more late nights in motels, only the occasional venial sin. Really, is a good time worth an eternity in Hell? He's matured, and, in retrospect, his forays were hardly good times, anyway. Means to an end, more like. His own brand of rebellion against...what, himself? His faith? Point being, he's completely reformed.
He was doing just fine--until Adam Stanheight. Defying all spiritual reason, speaking to the deepest, most hidden parts of himself, Lawrence can't help but feel old desires stir to life, with new fire, like violent, living things. And by God, they have teeth.

“I don’t know,” he replies quietly. “Eventually, I guess? I mean… You don’t meet a lot of people like me, and I don’t like to tell a lot of people either. They get it in their heads that I can, like, help them get their own little pet dragons or something. Or they could tell hunters, or they could fucking… I don’t know, probably think I can teach them how to do it. It’s annoying.”
(or, magical healer lawrence gets an odd request from adam over the phone that leads to him learning a bit of a secret. it's not a bad one, but it is a little surprising.)
