Finding out that his best friend (and crush) was a vampire, was not on Reki’s to do list for this school year. Not that he’s complaining, otherworld abilities are really useful in the skating world, and it was a small plus that Langa could beat anyone who tried to mess with Reki.
Thrown in the world of vampires, Reki must learn to hold his ground with nothing to help him but his own wits and questionable life choices. Obsessed with the idea of his 'Eve', Adam will do anything to get what he wants, even if it means using the redhead human to do so.
Langa just wants to skate with Reki and keep him safe. Which would be easier if he stopped running into trouble around every corner.
The others are wondering how one human can end up in so many dangerous situations they're left questioning if Reki has any self-preservation instincts at all.
It doesn’t take long to realise Adam will stop at no lengths to get what he wants; can the rest of the team keep Reki safe despite his stubbornness that he doesn’t need protecting?
Joe and Cherry are confused when they became parents, Shadow is confused why Reki is stealing his flash bombs, and everyone is sick of the mutual pining between two idiots in love.

“I’m curious, Adam,” Lawrence says through the fine mesh of the confessional, though he keeps his eyes trained on the wood grain of the wall straight ahead of him. “I was wondering if you might…indulge me.”
A priest and a vampire walk into a bar, Adam might say. Stop me if you’ve heard this one before...
Lawrence Gordon is far from the perfect Catholic, predisposed to indulging in his baser nature on occasion. Since the conception of his daughter, though, he's been far more careful, far more resilient in the face of his desires. No more late nights in motels, only the occasional venial sin. Really, is a good time worth an eternity in Hell? He's matured, and, in retrospect, his forays were hardly good times, anyway. Means to an end, more like. His own brand of rebellion against...what, himself? His faith? Point being, he's completely reformed.
He was doing just fine--until Adam Stanheight. Defying all spiritual reason, speaking to the deepest, most hidden parts of himself, Lawrence can't help but feel old desires stir to life, with new fire, like violent, living things. And by God, they have teeth.

Lawrence had dealt with his fair share of dead bodies, in his line of work.
It wasn’t exactly avoidable- he was the only doctor in his town, after all, and patients didn’t just stop existing after they died, as much as Lawrence might have wanted them to. Still, it wasn’t the worst job in the world. It was peaceful even, getting to be an instrumental part in laying them to rest, bringing them to eternal peace. He brought a lot of comfort to people. It was repetitive, so routine that it was almost dull now.
Usually they didn’t come back, though.

Summary
Kojiro would never forget the fear that had burned in Kaoru's beautiful gold eyes as he was killed by a vampire. It was his fault that his best friend had died that night and he had to live with his mistakes, but that didn't mean that he couldn't attempt to atone for them. The search for Kaoru's killer had been going nowhere, the trail had gone cold. However, when Kojiro comes across a tip that a vampire who may know something has been seen in a nearby forest, he jumps at the opportunity. As he pursues his best friend's murderer, he soon realizes that the dead will come back to haunt you, but not always in the way that you'd expect.

A flash of light illuminates the shiny wet pavement, and Kojiro hangs up the phone before a deafening crack of thunder has time to follow the lightning. Rain falls heavily against the hood of his jacket as he growls. This makes the fourth rejection in six months, the fourth bank to deny him. Top it off with being let go a few hours earlier, and hot anger rolls through his veins. Serves Kojiro right for seeking help from bloodsuckers.
The black clouds overhead do little to block the pull of the full moon. The skin along the back of his neck pricks as instinct beckons, goosebumps rising along the backs of his hands. Far above, his patron goddess calls to him, begging him to sink his claws into flesh, to plunge his teeth into the gullet of the man who so casually denied Kojiro his dream.
Instead, he opens Google and searches for the nearest coffee shop.~ ~ ~
Kaoru owns a coffee shop that's only open at night. Kojiro just wants his life to be easy, simple, and definitely doesn't plan to adopt any stray teenagers along the way.

“Like what?” Kaoru hedges, pressing his thumb to Kojiro’s mouth and watching with interest when he takes the fleshy part of it between his teeth.
“Anything,” Kojiro breathes. “A little fact, a secret. Just something, anything for me to know about you.”
Kaoru thought it had slipped Kojiro’s notice, that Kaoru left most of the talking up to him. Apparently, he’s wrong — something else he should hate but, under the circumstances, it just thrills him even more.
“I want you,” Kaoru whispers.
“Is that a secret?” Kojiro asks, with almost a laugh in his tone.
It should be.Alternatively: In an eternity of listless boredom, Kaoru finally finds something — someone — to spark his interest.
