The first time he hears Dustin and Mike mention the name Eddie Munson he almost walks into a VHS display at work.
Steve wants to ask them how Eddie’s doing but then his face from that last party flashes into his head and he always clams up. If he was Eddie he’d want nothing to do with him and rightly so.
Instead Steve teasingly complains about how much time they spend with Eddie and that’s as far as it goes.

Eddie eyes him suspiciously for a moment, as if Steve wasn’t finished. “You know I’m Eddie Munson, right? I’ve already tried weed. Weed is part of my balanced diet.”
Steve fluttered his eyelashes. “But you haven’t tried it with Steve Harrington.”
It's never easy, recovering from the trauma of a battle with the supernatural, but this time Steve has Eddie. And weed. Hopefully one of those two can help him sleep at least.

oh man. just revisited this fic and wow. definitely deserves to be one of the fandom's most popular fics. it's like a lil love letter to 80s queer culture, even if it only scratches on the surface of the times during that era. you can feel the love and care that was put into writing this ❤️

Perfection. This is what good fanfiction is. Fics like this are the reason why I get so protective over fanfiction as a legitimate literary medium. Stories like this that make a reader's heart swell with the protagonist, makes them teary eyed by the end of it. Leaves a lasting impression. By god, this was incredible.

They put the candy next to the register so when people are checking out they feel more inclined to buy it. Because it’s a last minute decision, Steve thinks that’s what Keith said.
“I’m not. And I’ll prove it to you.” Eddie challenges.
Steve looks up at the metalhead under his fringe, disbelief in his gaze and annoyance set in his brow. “And how do you plan on doing that?”
“Come over to my place tomorrow night.”
