Steve lives in Stark Tower and doesn't have much to do when he's not going after Hydra strongholds. He attends charity events to make Pepper happy. He goes hiking with Sam. He hangs out with Clint in Bed-Stuy and watches Dog Cops. Sometimes Tony gives him super alcohol in a sippy cup. Sometimes he sees Bucky out of the corner of his eye and wonders if it's real or if he's starting to lose his mind.
Alternately, the one with terrible jokes, a foot chase through the Lower East Side, and a tiny little robot named Shitcan.

Bucky is a civil rights attorney and Steve is Captain America and they both are busy with their important careers and they are also both VERY HANDSOME and competent and should definitely kiss. But will they kiss?
May contain: Jokes. Slow burn, like, for real (I need y’all to understand I really mean it this time). Extremely petty sibling fights. Very tired attorneys. Acknowledgement of the existence of scorpions. Extensive discussion of the 14th Amendment of the US Constitution. The Avengers all live in the tower and the exact timing in the MCU world being *hand waves*
Warnings for: canon typical superhero violence, period typical (the period being present day) transphobia and homophobia. The existence of transphobia and homophobia are central to the plot, but there is no gratuitous detail of people being shitty. Extensive discussion of legislation against gender-affirming care (specifically: the characters are trying to stop such legislation).

After the massive fallout of Civil War, Steve and his team retreat to a secret base. Bucky is with them, and they aren't completely sure what to do with him, to be honest; they can't risk him on missions, not really, until he beats the trigger words conditioned into his brain. Nat has an idea.
It all goes pretty much OK, until Steve gets a late-night drunk dial from Tony.
