When a teaching position opened up in the small town he grew up in, Jace jumped at the chance to revive the relationships he had run so far from. But there was a lot of grief and guilt rolled up into this town that Jace still wasn't sure he could take.
He jumped in headfirst though, and over the year he found himself growing closer to people from his past and letting himself grow look toward the future.

Josh had always heard of that moment, that moment where other’s lives just slotted into place and they knew without a shadow of a doubt their future. Josh had always figured that it was complete nonsense, that there would always be doubt, that was just the reality of the human experience. That was until it happened to him.
Kids were never on Josh’s list of absolutes in life, it’s not that he inherently didn’t want them, he just never found someone where he could envision how his life would turn out with them. So he lived his life, not caring whether or not kids would ever be in his future. But somehow sitting there, in Chim and Maddie’s living room watching Buck as he dotes on his niece everything becomes exceptionally clear. For the first time in Josh’s life everything becomes exceptionally clear, and as easily as a key would fit into a lock, or the last puzzle piece would slip into its place, everything just clicks. Josh knows that he and Buck are meant to have a little one, he knows that his life will be filled with love and happiness and children.
