Do I? Christine wondered; raising her other hand to her forehead as she stood confused and alone at the bottom of the grand staircase; unsure if what he said was the truth.
She closed her eyes; tears of shame began to form in the corners of her eyes as she recalled his touch on her chest when he snatched Raoul’s ring away. The ghost of his gloved fingers that lingered on her skin so close to her bosom had lit a fire deep within her.
