There are two ways to become a siren, Shouta discovers. The first is the normal way you'd expect, when two sirens love each other very much, blah blah blah. The second is a little more complicated, and apparently 'complicated' is attracted to Shouta like a magnet.
Or, Shouta tries to save a mer and ends up with a tail and a new boyfriend.

Summary
Hob Gadling has taken a liking to the strays that creep around the back of the New Inn; he's made them his new project - although, most of them get adopted out to loving families. He needs something to do while waiting, and definitely not pining, hoping the "I'll see you soon" from his long-missing friend meant on a normal scale, not a cosmic one. One cat in particular refuses to leave and is too ornery to be adopted, so he might just have to accept that he has a house cat (inn cat?) these days.
