Summary
With all the loss the Doctor's experienced, he would have thought he would manage to keep his hopes and expectations low when Rose returns. She had, after all, done so with the Metacrisis, Handy - or John, as he's apparently called - as well as a mysterious interloper that evaded the Torchwood in Pete's World.
But something's off. With Rose, with Handy/John, and the whole thing that brought them over in the first place. And River's of no help, what with "Spoilers" being her only answer to anything. Which means the Doctor is inevitably going to be filled with hope that maybe, just maybe, he might be able to keep something this time.

The Doctor is overjoyed when Jenny comes back into his life and gives him a second chance - well, second second chance - at fatherhood. However, he soon has to face something that will test his patience and his strength: he was the father of a bloody teenager.
90% of the time, she whined about wanting a mother or that he was smothering her and she had a tendency to be attracted to what he suspected were actual Neanderthals, but there were just as many sweet moments as annoying moments and he wouldn't change anything. He just needed to survive her teenaged years. There was a good chance he probably would, too. Um, hopefully.
This was just a little thing I'd written a while back and never got around to putting up. I needed a reunion fic so I wrote one. It will eventually be the prequel to a longer story, but it's also cute as a short, sweet stand alone.

Summary
What the hell had he been thinking, carrying on with Rose, kissing her, pressing in close, wanting so badly to do more? Entertaining the impossible idea that he was in love with her?
He hadn’t been thinking, that was the issue. It seemed whenever Rose was nearby, his brain didn’t want to function at full capacity. It was incredibly frustrating. Not to mention dangerous, for everyone involved.

When Rose accidentally over indulges in a recreational herb resin designed to increase euphoria and pleasure on a night out with Jack, the Doctor is certain he can help her without her ever knowing the truth of how he feels. Rose doesn't reciprocate them, no matter how many times the desperate need in her body tells her that she does. All he needs to do is enter her mind and put her to sleep for a few days. It should be easy, since she probably won't remember most of it.
Rose Tyler feels like she is going to burn away into a supernova if the Doctor doesn't touch her. When she'd tried the resin, she had been assured was nothing more potent than a joint but with the added benefit of guaranteed libido increase. She just wanted to work up the courage to make a move, because Jack and her mum swears the Doctor is in love with her. She needs him to believe that it isn't just her aching body making her say it. Thankfully, the Doctor has told her time after time that you can't lie in your mind. All he has to do is read her thoughts.
