Lauren’s eyes were as curious as ever, huddling deeper into her cocoon, desperate for warmth. It wasn’t the first time they had talked about these things. It wouldn’t be the first layer of vulnerability they’d expose to each other, but even so, it was still like the first time. Exciting. Terrifying. Unsure of what the other’s answer to their demons would be, but all too willing to listen.
