A disastrous encounter in the bathhouse gym leads to a unique deal: Alex agrees to help the farmer get stronger to make farm life a little easier, and in exchange, the Farmer Guy teaches Alex some new things about himself.
This story was originally written as a reader insert. However, in the planned spinoffs for this fic, I am going to give the farmer a name and distinct look/personality, which led to me deciding to do a cheeky little reboot. This version contains scenes that are not in the original, so don't go thinking this is just a copy/paste with the farmer's name added.
Don't worry, I won't be deleting the reader insert version.

Josh Dun signs up to volunteer at the local animal shelter to fill the quiet parts of his life. He doesn't expect to meet Tyler Joseph, the guarded vet tech with a weird thing about leashes being coiled correctly, who glares at everyone like they owe him money.
Tyler didn't need anyone messing up his routine, especially not someone who names every dog after a snack food and talks to them like they're coworkers. But there Josh was, all soft smiles and chaotic kindness, a new hair color every week. He makes the shelter feel like something other than a place where things come to break.
Tyler keeps pushing him away, but Josh keeps showing up. And against his better judgement, Tyler slowly wishes he'd stay.
