When Trinity gets the opportunity to toss her drink on an entitled man badgering a woman who clearly isn’t interested, she takes it. She doesn't think it'll be anything more than stress relief—an opportunity to let out the aggression she feels at getting stood up in a bar she can’t afford.
Trinity doesn’t think anything of it. Until she meets the woman he was bothering. Baran Al-Hashimi, beautiful, intelligent, and—inexplicably—interested. The only stipulation to their friendship is this: they can't talk about work. They agree, not knowing that they're both doctors, unaware that Baran will be Trinity's boss in just a few short months.

“Right. And—” Yolanda can see the moment Trinity hesitates in how to address her and decides to skip over it entirely “—this is Ellie.” Trinity swallows once—hard—and then lifts her chin, as if daring Yolanda to say anything. “My daughter.”
“It’s nice to meet you, Ellie. I wish I could say I’ve heard a lot about you.”

“Well...Baran Al-Hashimi, it was very nice to meet you. I hope to see you soon.” Trinity stuck out her hand to shake.
The second their hands touched, it was like time had stopped. The sound and smell of downtown Pittsburg seemed to vanish. The only thing either of them focused on was the skin to skin contact pulsing electricity through their bodies.
“What a shame, the next time will be in scrubs.” Baran had said, “I quite like this look on you.”
With that comment, Baran finally allowed her eyes to travel down Trinity’s body, lingering on her chest where the top three buttons of her shirt were undone. She walked away towards the door, with a smirk on her lips and hips swinging bigger than they usually did.
