Alone, drifting without thrust or communications in deep space, Wake has dwindling options. There’s a limited supply of oxygen and food. There’s no way to tell if rescue is coming.

Together was maybe a misnomer. Harrow stayed late to practice, and I lingered to watch the way she moved. The first time I stayed, I told myself it was just because her technical skill fascinated me. By the fourth late Tuesday, I’d stopped lying to myself.
Gideon Nav swears off martial arts after her last concussion. Her coworker/on-and-off FWB Camilla Hect strongarms her into trying an adult gymnastics club at the local rec center. She only keeps going because the hot Saturday coach Abigail Pent always compliments her.
But when Gideon wears the wrong shirt to class, wraps it around the bar, and accidentally rips it off, Harrow Nova (the other, scarier coach) has harsh words for her. Gideon goes home with a newfound erotic humiliation daydream of Harrow coaching her physical form in the sack.
Camilla is completely unhelpful in processing any of this.I (25F) have a crush on my tiny, terrifying rec gymnastics coach (34F). AITA?

Overworked junior lawyer Harrow gets told by her therapist to do one (1) recreational activity to start rebalancing her life. She duly signs up for a pottery class taught by Cytherea, an artist almost twice her age. At first Harrow resents Cytherea's airy, self-amused demeanor, then she becomes obsessively invested in her approval. Her wheelthrowing doesn't really improve though. Eventually Harrow realizes that she's having a long-overdue gay awakening, which was already transparent to Cytherea, and they make out on top of the kiln.

"How do you know Nonagesimus has gone somewhere dangerous?" asked Isaac. "Have you wired some kind of alert system?"
"It's, uh. It's on the schedule," said Gideon. "I just... forgot. Because of the bread."
Nobody was convinced by this, least of all Gideon.
"It's a Ninth House thing," Gideon went on, backing away with increasing desperation. This was a slightly more plausible explanation, if only because nobody wanted to look too closely at what fell under the awful skeletal-ribbed and rotting umbrella of Ninth House things. "Gotta go—!" And she was out the door, gone.
But it wasn't a Ninth House thing, except inasmuch as it was happening to the only two representatives of the noble and decrepit Ninth House on this quite literally godforsaken rock. Gideon knew Harrow had gone somewhere dangerous—knew that Harrow was back in the lab where they had only just completed a horrible trial—because she could see it, clear as day: an awful overlay on her vision of that terrible dangerous room and a pair of terrible dangerous hands drawing some kind of ward next to the plinth.
The hands were definitely Harrow's.
This was definitely a problem.
