Keep on thinking you’re better than me, it's not like you’re doing this class for fun and not a major, oh wait, you are.” He rolled their eyes as they looked away from their own finished sketch from the last lesson at his easel to jokingly glare at Claude, the shorter guy wheezing as he doubled over in laughter, resting against his easel to keep himself from falling straight through to the floor. “Oh laugh it up, yeah, it’s not like you’re distracting me from a key subject.”

But we can’t, this is who I am and you are who you are, there’s no way around it friend.” She spits out the last word, distaste on her tongue a flavour of regret and sadness, but she knows Beidou heard for what it was, a plea, a wish, that in some world they may have been able to take that chance. “But you’re right, I do owe you something. The stars are beautiful tonight, even though other things of far greater beauty often catch my eye in all honesty. But, in truth, I was hiding from the people inside, their propositions are always so tiring, it gets to me, and I knew you’d follow me out if you saw.”

It was a quiet night out atop the Jade Chamber, and the one person who would benefit the most from the party filled with business propositions was standing outside and alone, so of course Beidou had to follow. -

The world was tinged shades of red, orange, pink, and gold with the warping mass of the sun sinking well below the horizon line, casting its coloured rays as a final hurrah of the day. Even after it had completely set, no longer visible between the buildings, there was still a remaining halo of light from the echoes bouncing through the atmosphere of the sun that was encircled by the ever-turning globe, and it continued the suns effort to paint the world shades of red and gold. In this light, with everything toned pink and orange, Chess looked healthier than ever, the grey sickness washed out of their skin, and they both appeared brighter and more peaceful than they had in days, previously stuck inside toiling away at the difficult tasks for their company.

“King Dream,” he greets, not afraid to let a little bit of his dislike show through as the majority of guards file out of the room. There is a long table laid out in front of them, war plans and schematics thrown to the side to bring forth a map of the Antarctic Empire.
“Philza,” Dream replies without missing a beat. He looks utterly unperturbed for someone who had just committed a war crime against one of his enemies.
But Phil will give him the benefit of the doubt, providing one last chance to free him before the Antarctic Empire wreaks havoc on his kingdom.“I’m afraid there must be a mistake,” he says, watching as Dream raises a brow in amusement. “I assume your guards have mistaken me for someone else? If you could just release me, I’ll be on my way now.”
He has half the mind to expect Dream to jump at the opportunity, accept the shred of mercy Phil has offered him as they both go on their own way fighting the war. Perhaps he’d even let the man live.
If he was lucky.
