Summary
“Are you serious, Dean? Your djinn-dream started with you dying?” Sam asks incredulously from the passenger seat on the way back to the bunker.
“Well, technically it started with us going on a hunt,” Dean points out. He licks his lips, jaw clenching. “I mean, there was Heaven, too, and that was pretty cool.”
Sam stares at him. “Unbelievable,” he breathes, scrunching his face up in distaste. When Dean glares at him, he holds his hands up defensively and chuckles weakly. “Sorry, man, but that just sounds pretty lame.” He leans back and folds his arms. “It just…I dunno. Kinda sounds like something Chuck would cook up. Just you and me. No one else. I mean, really?” He scoffs, slumping.

In which some people come back, Cas learns to be human (the right way, this time), Dean Winchester finally realizes that good things do happen, and they all get their version of the post-credits, apple-pie life they deserved.

Fic rec on Reddit by u/DefNotAmelia_Pond from r/destiel
Dean’s internalized homophobia was not difficult to read through because he wasn't a dick about it and Cas handled it really well. In fact, I can see canon Dean reacting this way and there being a truly lovely outcome, just like in this fic!
There's a few cases scattered throughout the fic, but they aren't all really long, which is nice. I like this because it stays true to who our boys are at their core, but keeps the fic's main focus on Dean and Castiel's growing relationship.
Any angst that occurs is necessary to the fic's plot and is resolved excellently too (and quickly, tbh). The slow burn/build isn't excruciating either!!
Sorry for so many Bookmarker's Tags and Notes too! I do this to a lot of my Bookmarks because sometimes I get bored and like to filter really random things I haven't read in a while...

Love this AU and the progression of Cas and Dean's relationship - it falls into place so much easier compared to a lot of other Destiel fics and despite the accidental circumstances. So glad the wolves are "cute" compared to mostly violent werewolf stories. It was nice seeing Gabriel and Dean getting along so well too.
Also, sorry for so many Bookmarker's Tags! I do this to my Bookmarks because sometimes I get bored and like to filter random things I haven't read in a while...

Summary
Dean Winchester, best damn HR Manager ever, has a tough job to do. His only relief is the moment he can leave work and blast his classic rock at top volume. But after a particularly difficult day, AC/DC does nothing to calm his frayed nerves when he has to fire a good employee who doesn't deserve her fate. Stretched almost to the breaking point with nothing to relax him, Dean unexpectedly hears a distant piano playing from somewhere nearby. He knows nothing of classical music, or the person playing it, but he's immediately comforted by the melancholy piece. What he doesn't realize, is that the famous concert pianist responsible for the music, Castiel Milton, is equally charmed by the the classic rock music drifting through his own windows and the voice of the man who puts a lot of heart into singing along every day. Through a chance encounter, Dean and Castiel discover more to love than just their music.

One of my favorite fic writers!
-sigh- I just love how easy Dean and Cas' first meeting fell into place (I'm jealous lol). Gabriel and Charlie are quite lovely too and it's not only their banter, but also Cas and Dean's that flows so smoothly - it's quite pleasant and amusing! Everything about this fic was almost relaxing in the sense that life truly could be as smooth as this Destiel if we'd all learn to just take a step back and enjoy the sweeter things. God I wish there had been more!!
Note to self: the last chapter of the story is actually chapter 9 and chapter 10 is for the author's references, notes, etc.
