This tale is old. Long ago, two kitsune gods shared a great shrine: Nagito, god of life, luck, and hope, and Izuru, god of death and the abyss. One night, a child appeared at their door, and they raised her among the lanterns and incense. Years later, Kagaya returns to find the shrine empty, with only a note left: "Out for a date night." But on the back, in Nagito's handwriting: "That's a lie. We were taken by a despair priestess, Keep this note for hints." So Kagaya sets out with Kyoko, the divine priestess, and Makoto, the young kitsune, to rescue the gods she loves. Along the way they gather unlikely heroes: Fuyuhiko and Peko, swordswomen bound by loyalty; Ren, a sorceress born from a lotus flower; Nirvana, the radiant dragon of pleasure and sacred ground; Korekiyo, the forgotten anthropologist; Angie, messenger of Atua; Aoi, the cheerful water nymph; and Chiaki, the sleepy but savage kappa. Together they face the corrupted Yamata no Orochi, survive Nirvana's three trials, battle a corrupted dragon of frost, and confront Junko, the despair priestess who took the gods. they win it all, and the shrine grows full with a family forged in battle and bound by love, as the god of hope and the god of the abyss watch them.

Summary
This is the story of Agnes tachyon and Manhattan cafe's many misadventures. The time they accidentally set the science building on fire. The time they got locked in the storage closet for six hours and came out best friends. The time Tachyon tried to prove that ghosts do not exist by spending a night in the haunted dormitory, only to discover that Cafe has been living there for three years and did not think to mention it. The time they entered a cooking competition and somehow created a dish that was technically edible, depending on your definition of edible. The time Tachyon's sentient shoes escaped and they had to chase them across the entire campus. The time Cafe fell asleep in a tree and Tachyon had to climb up to get her down and then they both got stuck.

Many mysterious things have happened at this camp that was built by the very rich Daishi family. Hajime and Izuru must survive the crazy headmaster Monokuma, his caring assistant Usami/Monomi, a group of counselors who seem to do whatever they want, and a group of kids who have had way too much sugar. This is gonna be a summer they'll never forget.
