Summary
To understand the level of deep water Louis was in, one first needed to know he has had the same best friend since he was five. Ethan Astor was family to him—a friend who he loved deeply despite their differences. A friend he would do almost anything for. So when Ethan came to him with the plan, no matter how he felt about it, Louis accepted it.
At first, it was simple, he just had to flutter his eyelashes at any of the boys that showed interest in Ethan, and if they fell for it, he just dumped them without telling them the reason. Somehow, the rumors spread around campus that Ethan had an insufferable friend they had to somehow win over to reach him. Like a final monster before getting the princess.
Or: Harry likes Louis’ best friend and there's a rumor that in order to get a chance with him, he should woo Louis first.

“You want me to seduce an alpha,” Louis hissed.
“I want you to marry an alpha. It’s the only way I could ever get back on my feet. You didn’t think a few dances at a ball would do anything to Alastair’s reputation or mine...”
“And what if Alastair comes back? Have you thought about him in all of this? You’re going to marry him to an alpha he doesn’t even know!”
“Oh he does know him, in fact... he’d be ecstatic to know he got to marry him.”
Louis’ blood ran cold, already suspecting who was the alpha the earl was talking about.
“Who is he?” he asked anyways, hating how fragile and almost scared his voice sounded.

Louis' stomach dropped, the words came smelling like danger, sending a bolt of fear down his spine, the Earl wanted Louis to seduce The Duke of Death.

Wylan flushes fully. I don’t have a crush on Jesper anymore, he reminds himself. There’s no reason to feel so hopeful by those words.
So Wylan scoffs, and asks, “What, for practice?”
Jesper looks away, and casual as ever, shrugs. He faces Wylan again with a grin. “Yeah. Yeah, I mean, why not?”

“What?” the omega’s lips curled into an annoying shape Harry wished to smack. “Can’t believe that helpless little omegas can hold more power than you?”
“They can’t,” Harry replied without a second though before he channelled his wolf and made him rumble from the depths of his chest, aiming for the omega to bow in front of him. This never failed him once. Omegas were mentally weak. It was why the kidnapping was still a thing – because they couldn’t help but submit the moment alphas told them to.
Except this time, it seemed.
Because unlike all the other tries, the omega’s eyes flashed with a warm, darker shade of blue for just a second – before turning back to icy cold with new force. His features hardened as he stepped closer and clasped his fingers around Harry’s neck.
“If you ever do this again,” he rasped, putting pressure on Harry’s veins, “I’ll kill all of your precious apprentices and make you watch, do you understand?”
