Peter toys with the idea while he’s sitting at his desk one night. Mr. Stark would listen. He always helps Peter with stuff. But he also bankrolls the Stark Relief Foundation, and donates a Scrooge-McDuck-worth amount of money to nonprofits and good causes and stuff. The thought of him ever seeing Peter like that—like one of his projects, a charity case, a problem to be fixed…
How rich is Tony Stark? he types into Google’s search bar before he has time to hesitate. The blood drains from Peter’s face a second later, and he slams the laptop shut.
No, he thinks, a little worried he might throw up. Because even though Mr. Stark gets him more than anyone else in the world, this is something he’ll never be able to understand. Mr. Stark’s not an option. Peter’s on his own.

When Toomes finds a stronger argument to keep Peter from meddling in his plans at Homecoming, he figures the Vulture isn't the only thing he can get Peter to keep quiet about— leaving Peter to juggle his relationship with Liz, his abuse at her father's hands, and his lingering hurt over how things ended with Mr. Stark.

“Really? Did he get lost?”
Someone steps out of Tony’s way. Michelle glares at him—how novel. “No,” she replies.
“Then you’ve filed a missing persons report?”
“Yes, but the police haven’t found anything.”
“Sad. Well, maybe if you give them a bit more time.”
“You and I both know the NYPD isn’t exactly known for being reliable.”
Tony laughs. “So what were you wanting to do next to find him? Is he chipped? Maybe if you offer a cash reward—”
“I’m thinking of involving someone with a little better surveillance of the city than the cops. But since they can be kind of hard to get a hold of, I knew I needed to be a little more forward than usual.”
Tony doesn’t know the last time he was interrupted.
“A superhero, then?”
Michelle speaks through gritted teeth: “That’s not what I said.”

Or, Peter Parker has disappeared, his loved ones want him back badly enough to do something stupid, and something else is afoot in NYC. Tony Stark—a superior Tony Stark—enjoys the hunt.

Summary
By some miracle, Peter and his class have made it through the trip to Europe. They’ve survived Avengers-level threats and a crazy supervillain, and, somehow, they did it without it all falling apart. No final attack, no Mysterio somehow managing to make it all crash down in the wake of his defeat. Just victory. No strings attached.
Now they’re home, and Peter has Ned and MJ at his side. Not to mention his Aunt May, and Happy, and Mr. Stark and his family. And alright, that last one, he’s retired and living in a lake house somewhere, but who cares? He’s there, that’s what matters.
Peter is thriving, Spider-Man is still kicking ass and making a name for himself, and nothing can stop him from getting through his senior year in one piece. Except, perhaps, for a family dinner. It’s only fair that his aunt meets his new girlfriend, right?
Now if only people would stop terrorizing New York City for one night…

AKA a post-Endgame, post-Far From Home story where Everybody Lived, Mysterio didn’t get the last laugh, and Aunt May and Tony Stark just want to meet Peter’s new girlfriend. Too bad the hero life and, apparently, falling buildings seem hard set on keeping that from happening.
