“You do know I’m here for you, right? Sukuna’s not good for you. You know it deep down. Stop lying to yourself. If you need support, we’re here for you. Gojo, Nobara, Panda, and the others. I’m here for you. You need to stop believing him. He’s using you.”
“No he’s not.”
“Yes he is. You’re not even yourself anymore. Where’d you get that bruise from? If he cared, why would he hurt you like that?”
“Because I was rude-”
“And that’s not healthy Yuuji!” Megumi stood up suddenly, hands finding purchase at his hair in exasperation. “I’d get it if he got angry, but he can’t go around bruising you because you defied him once. Just tell me what’s wrong.”

After the Death Painting Arc, Yuuji wonders why he doesn't receive any praise like his friends did. He seeks Sukuna for comfort, guessing the others won't care about him. It was like anything he did didn't have any value. He was back to square one. Once again, he was weak.

Hundreds of memories flooded Chuuya’s brain.
Being stabbed in the back by people he trusted.
Opening Arahabaki’s gate.
Watching his best friends die.
Torture.
Watching himself die.
Hundreds of memories of times when Chuuya’s heart pounded in his ears. Though looking back on it, Chuuya thought his heart might have been pounding just as hard during his first kiss as it had been when he’d come close to being crushed by a collapsing building.
Fear was such an obscure concept to Chuuya. He didn’t fear many things. Not anymore, at least.OR
Chuuya comes to the realization that he really, really does not want Dazai to die.

Chuuya scoffed, voice raw. "I guess."

Dazai's eyes teared into his very being as he held his gaze. Chuuya was the first to break eye contact, too tired to play the brunette's game for once.
"Letting you die would be really fucking inconvinient. I still wanna work with the Mafia, y'know? And for some fucking reason, you're my partner, so…" Chuuya trailed off, and when he saw Dazai's face harden a bit, he knew that he was a rather good actor.

Or, Dazai attempts to commit suicide countless times during his time in the Mafia. At fifteen years old, Chuuya saves him once, then twice, then thrice, then two many times to count. And he hates Dazai so much it hurts, but he never stops.

Summary
The elders scheme again, deliberately sending the first year students on a mission ranked higher than they can handle, all in a bid to try and kill Yuuji. Only this time, Nobara and Megumi get caught in the crossfire. Yuuji blames himself, the usually upbeat teen breaking down and admitting some hard truths, and all Gojou can do is hold him through it all.
The teen is hunched over, knees drawn up to his chest, arms wrapped around them tightly. Gojou isn’t prepared for what happens next, when Yuuji looks at him with eyes brimming full of unshed tears and says, “Do you hate me, Sensei?”
How could he ever think Gojou would hate him? The question makes the sorcerer’s heart clench painfully, and before he knows what’s happening, he’s moving to sit on the sofa and pull Yuuji into a crushing hug.
