There’s nothing to do here but think and scheme and plan, but for the all the contingencies Cal has created over the years, he never thought on how he’d explain that one of his identical, vengeful younger brothers knocked him out, took his place, and was planning to kill the royal family because of a long-standing political resentment mixed with, likely, a personal dislike of Cal due to his acquired station. “Thanks, man, appreciate it,” Pete had nodded, and Kingston had left, shutting the door behind him.
Now, Pete wishes, a bit naively, that Kingston had stayed for a while longer. Talked to him, maybe. Told him more about the Unsleeping City or Nod or any of these other weird words that everyone else is acting like are totally sane and normal.
5 times Pete falls asleep at someone else's place, +1 time someone falls asleep at his.

Summary
As Sofia takes off towards the giant cobra, Pete catches sight of himself in the windows of the skyscraper on his right. He's just in his casual workout clothes - sneakers, headband, orange shorts with vents in the side, a tank top with the word PHAN-TASTIC written across the front - but the breeze has tousled his hair very nicely indeed, and his chest is gleaming with lines of magical light. He looks like Superman, honestly - well, Superman if he had graffitied a terrible pun onto his shirt, but the point still stands.
Pete smiles, and the three mirror copies smile with him. Maybe it's his imagination, or the aforementioned lines of light, but he could swear he sees happiness on their faces. It's a strange, attractive type of joy - one that comes from recognizing yourself, from seeing your final form and finding it good.
