But they aren’t.
Ruby takes the news about Penny about as well as you’d expect it, running off on her own and not processing any of it. However, she finds a deal offered to her; come to my world, fight monsters, and Penny will come back to life. Seems simple enough, right?
Now she’s in another odd world, fighting creatures far worse than Grimm in her dreams and finding herself new friends in arms in a handful of teenagers in a similar plight. But as she gets closer and closer, she finds herself having to actually process through her own failings, her own pain and trauma…
But she’s not doing it alone. -

Weiss Schnee is in love with Ruby Rose. That's a fact, as much as she once would've liked to say it's not. But, now? They've gotten closer and closer, and Weiss really starts to think that she may have a chance...
And then they arrive in Atlas.
Soon, Ruby is being pulled in so many directions that not one of them leads her to her partner. Initially that's fine, Ruby's needed elsewhere, after all, but then... Then it gets worse to the point of weeks going by without them so much as exchanging a sideways glance let alone words. And then Ruby starts to pay a lot more of her attention elsewhere... Weiss isn't jealous, she's not! ...But... She can't deny the pain in her chest, growing and festering with every waking moment she comes closer and closer to the conclusion that Ruby doesn't like her, not in the same way at least. She figured the pain was emotional, not physical, but...A blossoming blood red rose would say otherwise.

But no matter, for Zwei finds himself miraculously running for Vale Office even though it doesn't seem to be a democracy. Soon school won't be a thing, whatever it is!

YorHA Units 15S and 18B, codenames Ruby and Weiss, have been paired together for awhile now. It's taken a lot of work but the two are getting along now, excessively so. So much so that Weiss's operator 19O, known as Yang, decides to play 'wingwoman' so to speak and ropes Ruby's operator, unit 16O, AKA Blake, into the scheme. It seems simple enough, human girls liked flowers, therefore Ruby might like some flowers. Weiss isn't one for this sort of thing but she gets dragged into it anyways. Ah well, what's the worst that could happen?

When she feels compelled to speak, it's to further their plans, point things out, deliver rebuttal to those who refuse to do what's right... It wasn't super apparent at first, she still had some chats with others, she still rode on Elm's shoulders... But, tonight was different. Tonight, it became clear that something other than being tongue tied was at play.
She said and did something she never would do. Her lips moved on their own. Her throat was sealed shut as she watched her best friend disappear into the depths of the Schnee Manor.

After a stressful several days RWBY and company are finally in their airship on route to Atlas. After said stressful days, the kids are all happy to have some rest. Well, all of them except a certain Ex-Heiress who is deeply troubled at the prospect of going to Atlas again, especially due to all of the absolute terror she went through today on behalf of her partner. Said partner is currently curled up to her, so. That's a thing.
