Summary
"I find perception and reality intersect far less than most would think."
~~~
Mina Ha's second chance is bleeding out slow in an alley.
After everything, being turned into a vampire seemed like a fresh start. She didn't account for the backstabbing, the condescension, and the perpetual attempts to keep her in her place. Desperate to start the climb up the social ladder, she makes up a lie. It's a stroke of good fortune that she stumbles upon the one man who could make her fictions into reality.
What a shame then that the man is anything but human.
Summary
After the conclusion of the ritual, Paige expects to return to her normal life. She's gotten her wish, her family is whole again, and everyone has gone their separate ways. What else is there to do but go back to embracing her work and the written word?
That's what she wants at least. But Lady Geist has different thoughts on what she should be doing with her life, and there's nothing more capable of changing the course of destiny than the machinations of the ultrawealthy and powerful. Especially when you bring the occult into the matter.
Summary
Somewhere out in the Outer Planes is a being of lock and key. Most of it, anyway. There is a small part of it on Earth, molded into a near-perfect imitation of the male human body and all its tiny flaws, if not for the subtle otherwordly glow of its pupils and the keyhole on its sternum. Asleep, as much as a mere construct could be.
For an inexplicable reason, its gaze is drawn to the keyhole in its chest as it continues its observation of itself, and a bout of curiosity takes hold of it; the same curiosity that compels it to study humanity, to allow itself to be hunted by a lesser, to act as a servant. It wonders, what if…
It reaches out to the keyhole—and turns the lock.
Summary
There were no stories that told of what happened when your eyes would meet with the once renowned Keeper Of All Knowledge, their world's very own Sage of Truth. There were no stories because none had lived to tell the tale.
Knowledge Seekers turned to marionettes and their Sage had been abandoned. Abandoned by the ones that gave him fate, who then stripped him of all he held close.
And now, Pure Vanilla, desperate for knowledge he does not hold finds himself at the very same spire doors many had entered, and after the Sages fall all had never exited. But he had pledged his self sacrifice, and so that is what he must fulfill.
…
In simpler words; No one can meet Shadow Milk's eyes after his corruption, as long as your eyes work as intended, that is.
