Summary
She rushed the tempo of her plan. If she stayed moderato when she began, her pace matched it, but no, she found herself in an accelerando, reaching a presto BPM. Leon moved at a fast speed naturally, she should have heard it.
So it came down to who wanted to survive more. Despite the pain coursing through her when he broke her wrist, despite the fear of dying, despite the shame of disappearing and ruining what could be a survival story that would have her living forever, Sayaka fought.
Rubato wasn’t working. She needed a new tempo. One that would clear her head and help her long term, help her survive.
Sayaka made it to the bathroom and slowed herself to adagio.

Kokichi always traveled amongst the shadows. Many times, Kokichi appeared in places he wasn’t meant to be, knowing things he had no way of knowing unless he had been there for the conversation, saying things that previously were spoken into being by another person. He acted on knowledge not meant for him, which put him one step ahead of the rest of the students in this godforsaken school.

That permissive darkness bled into everyone’s lives. When Kokichi walks into a room, a choking presence enters with him. He embodied disgust and hatred. He was that looming cloud of obscurity that burned at the touch. He loved him, and Kokichi opened up. He loved him, and Kokichi let him in. As if delicately lighting a candle in the wind, he fought hard to keep that fire alive. He loved him, and Kokichi took all he gave, his fire and his light, and with a smile, he blew it out.

Summary
It came quietly in the form of a classmate. Blank faced, silent, and daunting as the classmate made sense of the new world around him, much like Shuichi on the other side of the glass. Then, Shuichi’s world shattered like the window pane as his first zombie crashed through. Anyone but Kokichi would’ve served great as his saving grace, but life’s ironic like that. Shuichi wanted anything except to be alone, so he’d suffer through this apocalypse with Kokichi if it saved him from loneliness.
He egged it on. He knew he did, but he didn’t deserve to die over his teasing habits. How was Kokichi supposed to know that his classmate wasn’t kidding around? How was he supposed to know zombies couldn’t handle a joke? Kokichi fled out in front of the school and found Shuichi alone. Kokichi wanted anything except to die, so he’d suffer through this apocalypse with Shuichi if it meant someone covered his back.

Sunsets are rather beautiful.
Kokichi hums and kicks his legs playfully as he watches the splashes of yellow mix into reds and oranges, nature’s own canvas. He pretends to hold a paint brush and runs it across the sky. Almost as if it bent to his will, clouds drift off the canvas to clear off the sky.
The evening breeze blows his tousled hair around, but it feels nice. Kokichi likes it. It adds onto this aesthetic he wants in the moment, a peaceful evening with a perfect sunset, slight breeze, and the smell of strawberries somewhere in the distance. Someone must be selling fruit.
He’d go as far to say the evening is perfect... if all the sirens from fifty stories below shut the hell up.
