“Yes, of course.”
“Pirates often don’t get married and instead find love on the sea, with one another.”
“Oh,” Regulus said, fairly unfazed. “So, you wish to run away and become a pirate then?”
“Well no, not necessarily,” Sirius replied, “but I do want to love like one.”

Sirius Black is crown prince to the throne and is put into an arranged marriage with his cousin whom he is desperate to escape from. Fortunately for him, he's able to strike a deal with a notorious pirate by the name of Captain Lycaon that grants him his freedom and the captain all the gold he could ever want. Though, things go awry quickly when neither man is as the other expects him to be, setting off a chain reaction of drama, angst, and love.

In 1965, Voldemort became Minister for Magic. In 1968, the leadership of the Order of the Phoenix was destroyed, the remnants of the terrorist organisation driven underground. By 1970, all was well in Great Britain.
The year is 1984. Sirius Black has just turned 25. He's rich, he's powerful, and most importantly--he's bored.

It's not that Gerry thought they weren't allowed to change, they just never let themself consider that they might be happier in some other way.
Jon and Martin do have a bit of habit of shifting Gerry's world on it's foundations though, and if that includes a gender revelation, then so be it.
