“Oh. I had no idea,” lies Sanji, who is most definitely an average person and not a vampire. He shoots the mosshead his best customer service smile, the one that screams sir, this is just an innocent local business with no affiliation to vampires, the Easter Bunny, or Santa Claus. “Can I get you anything?”
Alternatively: In this economy, you gotta do what you gotta do. Some people hunt rogue vampires. Others run coffee shops that cater specifically to their fellow creatures of the night, and try their best not to get staked through the heart (or fall in love).

“What is it?” Zoro asked, voice flat as he glared over the top of his glasses at the hapless grad student.
The guy at least had the sense to look a bit embarrassed this time. “Looks like my print job didn’t send,” he said, gesturing to the row of bulky computers.
“Again?” Zoro asked, rolling his eyes as he stood up from the desk. “Aren’t you in computer science or something?”
After two semesters of working the library reference desk, Zoro's solitary routine is broken up by constant interruptions from a grad student who seems determined to involve himself in Zoro's life.

Mark is prepared to ask him what he’s sorry for when the younger boy’s head snaps up suddenly, the bright red eyes that stare back at him making him freeze.
Mark is more than aware of the growing tension between humans and vampires. He’s seen the panicked news reports about the increasing number of vampire attacks on humans. And his parents and friends alike have warned him not to be too trusting and to avoid the late-night where the creatures typically made their claim.
Unfortunately, none of this prepares him for the moment his Tinder dates eyes flash bright red.
