This is not where this ends. I am not letting you vanish into the dark like this. His lungs burn and his legs quake, but he ignores both.
“Bright!” Kun shouts again, louder. ”Ten! You don’t have to run!”
Ten doesn’t answer, doesn’t even acknowledge the words at all. But at the next turn, his foot skids across slick concrete, and his balance goes out from under him.
Kun reacts instantly, lowering gravity just a fraction, slowing his fall so he won’t crack bone on the ground.
Ten slams down anyway, but it’s gentler than it would’ve been. More importantly, it’s enough to close the distance. Kun is on him in seconds.
Being heroes is nice. Being sponsored heroes is better, or at least that's what Kun's bank account would say (and Yangyang's limited-edition sneaker line would happily back it up). But perks can only take you so far, and there's an emerging problem with being this city's 'eyes in the sky.' That is, at some point or another, you see something you shouldn't have.
TLDR a WayV hero(?) AU, as inspired by: murmuration is kind of terrifying.
