Summary
There’s a soft sound coming from the living room, talking, or maybe the tv. It’s not Buck’s voice. The talking turns into something else, and Eddie forces himself to walk further into the house.
“Hey, Buck, I - “
Buck jumps out of his seat and fumbles with the remote to pause the television.
“Jesus Christ, Eddie. You scared the shit out of me.” Buck shakes his head. “What are you doing here?”
“Oh,” Eddie says. Maybe he was wrong about being welcome. “I was bored. I just thought I’d come see what you were doing. I guess I could have called first, but you said it’s fine to just - “
“No, no, of course it’s fine. It’s totally fine. What’s mine is yours’, right?” Buck says, a little too easily.
Eddie glances at the paused television and suddenly realizes why Buck was so scared when he came in. Naked men. There are naked men on the screen.

Summary
The new house is too clean. Too quiet. Buck drops his keys on the counter just to hear them hit something, but the sound dies too fast. It’s not like the Diaz house, where there was always noise, laughter, life. He’s getting good at pretending it doesn’t ache, but after Chris and Eddie boomeranged back from Texas something was knocked out of place within him on the rebound.
He didn't duck in time.
Or, Buck starts faltering when Eddie touches him. Eddie notices.

Summary
Tim Bradford wakes up after a brutal operation expecting nothing more than another morning of work. Instead, he finds Los Angeles empty. No traffic. No neighbors. No birds. Just silence stretching for miles.
He thinks he’s alone—until he meets Lucy Chen, barefoot in a bikini and raiding the precinct’s booking room. She’s been here for weeks, navigating the emptiness with stubborn optimism and just enough chaos to make his blood pressure spike.
Thrown together by circumstance, Tim and Lucy carve out a strange new normal: shared meals, card games, late-night conversations, and the reluctant comfort of not being alone. The city may be deserted, but the pull between them is anything but quiet.
The problem? Neither of them can explain what happened, why they’re here, or how to get out. And the longer they’re trapped, the harder it is to ignore that surviving the silence might mean facing feelings them both keep trying to deny.
