Boston.
Shane just got traded to fucking Boston. To where Ilya was. With no apparent fucking reason in the middle of the season. He just won them two cups, why was this happening?

Shane gets traded in the middle of the 2016/2017 season, just before the All-Stars. The Tuna Meltdown never happens and Shane and Ilya amicably decide to stop seeing each other but remain ‘friends’. Both are very ‘happy’ with this decision until Hollander is traded to Boston. Now they must work with each other on the same team while Shane wonders what the hell happened in Montreal to get him traded in the first place. The Boston Raiders learn that Shane Hollander is not a chicken, or a virgin (lol) like everyone believes. And the Metros learn just how important Shane was in winning those cups.
And Cliff Marleau is just trying to figure out why Ilya’s messages to Jane stopped.

“What are you doing here?” Shane asks Ilya.
“Svetlana set me up on a blind date,” he responds, doesn’t bother lying. Curious to see what his reaction will be. “What are you doing here?” He throws back.
Shane’s eyebrows do something complicated. They’re interrupted by a knock on the door.
“Babe? You okay in there? You’ve been in there for a while,” a voice comes through.
“I’ll be right out, just washing my hands,” Shane responds stiffly. They hear footsteps walk away from the bathroom.
“Babe?” Ilya repeats. Watches as Shane’s cheeks turn pink again.
“That’s Jackson,” Shane states. “My boyfriend. It’s our one year anniversary.”
“Ah.” Is all Ilya can say. Tries to smile, “Congratulations.”

This is Shane's POV (new!Shane) of the fic 'so it's gonna be forever' by Lila_Mac.
You must read that fic first!
This is a working title and will probably change.
I will not start posting here until Lila's fic is complete. Posting just the prologue now so that this fic has a home, and anyone who is interested can follow for updates.
05/25/26 edit: At the end of Ch 18 of "so it's gonna be forever", Lila_Mac added this note:Real life is catching up to me, guys, so updates probably won't come as often and consistently as they did until ch 18. I think I'm probably also nearing the end of this story. I won't give an estimate of how many chapters left, as I don't really know myself, but I took a little break from writing, and when I came back to it, I very seriously considered changing it to complete at ch 18. I feel as if I achieved a satisfying conclusion to the time travel and Shane and Ilya's relationship in ch 17 and ch 18, and I don't want to drag it out if it doesn't feel natural. We'll see what the plot muse says, I guess.
I trust they will mark the fic complete when it's time, and until then I will not publish this fic :)
