Summary
“You okay, Buck?” Bobby asked, raising his voice a few notches so that Buck could hear him across the living room and down the hallway.
“Uh…yeah?” Buck answered softly and confused. Truthfully, he didn’t know. A few minutes ago, he started to feel a little fuzzy. The pain in his leg had begun to recede, but at that same moment, he felt tighter everywhere else. His chest, his skin, his throat. All of it just felt…off. The colours around him began blurring together, but he could tell—he knew—something wasn’t right. The last thing he was aware of was the rushed sound of Bobby’s footsteps before the world faded into blackness.
“Shit,” Bobby cursed. “What’s wrong?” He blurted out, even though he had a pretty good idea of what was happening. The only missing piece was why.
“C–can’t b–br–breathe…” Buck wheezed, the air whistling in his throat as he reached for Bobby’s hand. “S’m’th’n’s wr’ng…”
“Hey, hey, it’s gonna be okay. Just stay with me, kid.”

Summary
“Tilt your head back,” Eddie says, his voice barely audible over the running water.
Buck does as he was told, tilting his head back and closing his eyes to the spray of water dripping onto his face. Eddie’s hands go to Buck’s hair, lightly scratching and massaging his scalp. The familiar smell of his shampoo fills the shower.
He relaxes into Eddie’s touch, a small hum escaping his lips as Eddie works the shampoo into his curls with slow, methodical movement. Given the chance, Buck would fall asleep in the shower just from the sensation of Eddie’s fingertips against his head. The touch is light, delicate, intimate in a way he hadn’t expected. The butterflies continue to flutter in his stomach.
“Enjoying yourself?”
“Uh-huh,” Buck says, all other words failing him.
“Good.” Eddie laughs, moving to wash the shampoo out of Buck’s curls. “You just relax, I’ve got you.”

"All the disrespect in the world to you, I don't actually work for you and I'm not leaving Buck alone," Eddie heads down to the street level with Ravi on his tail.A canon divergence of sorts - Buck doesn't find out about Eddie's job offer before their shift. He finds out about it on shift right before the building collapse in Seismic Shifts; and because Buck has such great luck, he proceeds to get trapped in the building.
Injured and pinned, will the 118 (and Eddie) come to his rescue?

“Hang on, let me–” Eddie says, stopping Buck before he can get back in the car. When Christopher was younger and sick, Eddie would check for a fever by kissing him on the forehead, a quick press of his lips that served dual purposes of temperature gauging and providing comfort. He hadn’t been able to get away with that open affection for a couple years now, not since Chris became too cool for it, and he’s never done it with anyone else, but he has the urge to do that to Buck right now, to gently pull at his collar and lean up and place his lips right on his forehead. He wonders if he could sell it as practical, even in his own head. Eddie uses his hand instead.
“Alright,” Buck says impatiently, “I’m fine.”
“Maybe this is for me, not you,” Eddie says with a touch of too much honesty. He doesn’t back up, not yet, just trails his fingers down, brushing over his stubbled jaw and the thin skin covering his pulse point. Buck’s breath catches a little bit when he presses two fingers there, and Eddie focuses on the thumpthumpthump before pulling away.

Summary
Buck doesn’t know how it happened, but one second he was standing and the next he was toppling toward the ground. He hit the ground hard with no energy to catch himself. Everything hurt like hell. His head was pounding, side burning, scratches and cuts stinging, but he was safe.
He was safe because Eddie was here. Eddie was alive.
Buck felt crushing relief and overwhelming exhaustion. Eddie saved him.
He could feel the sun beating down on his face, but couldn’t bring himself to open his eyes, not until Eddie was upon him.
“Look at me, Buck!” Eddie’s voice sounded panicked. Buck felt a hand come to cradle one side of his face, fingers lifting his head off the ground, and the other pressed fingers into his pulse. “Look at me, Buck!”

“Buck!” Buck’s name exploded from Eddie’s lips like a shot. He elbowed the sheriff off him and limped forward like he wanted to break out into a run.
Buck’s stomach dropped to his feet as he watched the sheriff snarl at Eddie’s back before his face dropped into shock. He drew his gun back out of his holster and Buck wheezed in a breath to call out a warning that got trapped somewhere in his throat.
“Torres!” The sheriff snapped.
A grunt of pain rained down on Buck like pieces of rubble on his too raw skin before the sound of a body hit dirt and a unforgiving arm wrapped around his windpipe.
Okay but what if Earl ended up using Buck as a human shield during the final showdown?

What if the cattle prod gives Buck lasting effects that reopen a closed wound from years ago? Because being struck by lightning and then electrocuted only a few years later cannon be good for Buck's heart.

Buck’s jaw clenches. He refuses to look away, even as Maddie’s fingernails dig into his arm. “You’re not going to touch her,” he says, voice low and steady, though his pulse hammers in his throat. “Not again.”
Doug leans in, the blade tracing a slow line along Buck’s exposed collarbone, intimate in its cruelty. “Oh, I’ll touch whoever I want. That’s the wonderful beauty of it.” Buck glares at him, hand fumbling for Maddie’s until he envelopes his in hers, squeezing her hand tight. Reassurance in the simplest form. “You beg, and she’ll suffer less. However, if you stay stubborn…” he presses the knife just enough to break the skin, a bead of red trickling from the cut, “she’ll watch you bleed.”

Summary
Eddie thought wearing a bulletproof vest would protect him.
It’s designed to cover his chest, to prevent any real damage from happening to him. It completely shelters his heart, so no bullet can penetrate such a vital organ and shatter it into pieces.
At least, it’s supposed to.
It doesn’t.
A sharp crack, a violent whizzing sound, and suddenly Eddie’s ears are ringing.
Time seems to slow down around him as he staggers backwards, almost as if he’s been shoved back by an unseen force.
