There clear as day "Glass. Lead. Paper. Paint. Tea." He read the words aloud like a list of offenses. The paper crumpled slowly in his fist similarly to the way these new acts squeezed at his heart. How could Arthur not understand?? His jaw tensed. He stared out toward the docks where British ships sat proud and still…too many, always too many. Their flags rippled like smug reminders. How could Arthur not see- advocate for things like this when so many were trying to communicate the damages these taxes were causing his people?!
He looked down at his boots, scuffed and muddied from the roads that wove between Boston, Concord, and even back down toward Providence. The same roads he’d taken to listen at Liberty Tree, to quietly post letters to Washington…..carefully worded ones, of course. "Maybe they think I’ll just wear out. That I’ll stop pushing back. That bite was back in his voice.The sharp pull on his hair sent a jolt of pain through Arthur’s skull, forcing a ragged, breathless hitch from his throat. The inebriation amplified the sting of Alfred's teeth against his shoulder, converting the physical ache into a blooming, vivid pattern of crimson stars behind his eyelids.

Ivan's hand shifted just enough at Alfred’s throat to guide, not force, his attention back where Ivan wanted it. To make sure he heard.
“You want me to stop,” Ivan continued, softer now, “because it is something you hide from. The truth.”
His gaze flicked briefly over Alfred’s face, noting the tension, the anger, the way it sharpened him even through everything else pressing in.
“You don’t know what the fuck you’re talking about…” Alfred spat, part of the last word cut off with a choked noise as he clamped down on a sound that was building to a moan.

Summary
The year is 1946.
Following the the close of the Second Great War, a new threat lingers on the horizon. Tensions are beginning to arise between two new upcoming superpowers in the East and the West.
Alfred F Jones, representative of the United States, comes to gather he must start setting the board of this new game. Starting with the establishment of the CIA with assistance from the representative of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and the SIS, the two navigate their way through a government pushed 'Special Relationship.'
Emotions grow complex, the slow decline of the old world powers, finding footing on this new world stage bring about entanglements of epic proportions.

So, how is he supposed to take it with it when two of those people get tangled up together in a way that wasn't good for anyone? When his past, and his present collide; the world starts to feel like its truly spun on its axis...---
Or; WW2 story following a moment in time of pilot Americas activities in the Pacific Theater. Nationverse. Main relationship is with an OC, and the secondary relationship is Past AmeriPan, with the story evolving to center around WW2 America/Japan interactions.
This was written as a side anecdote piece to the series exploring the time line of Alfred's life from the end of the Civil War, through to the end of the Cold War (1865-1991). It also connects directly to Across the Ages, Across the Atlantic, the Cold War roleplay I have going with Gayontilmorning.-
