Summary
Elminster would be a lot more comfortable handing over his pupil Gale to the tutelage and oversight of his beloved goddess Mystra, the Lady of Magic, if the young wizard had only been a little older. As it is, he fears that Mystra, immortal and all-powerful as she is, might underestimate his naivety and impressionability. Or perhaps, he fears, that this is exactly how she wants her new ward. Elminster prepares to hand over his pupil in sacrificial offering to Mystra on a quiet morning in a local chapel.

Summary
The Dark Urge and Astarion are traversing Cazador Szarr's dungeon to stop, or steal, his dark rite of Ascension.

Summary
Having defeated vampire lord Cazador Szarr in battle, bruised and bloody Astarion and The Dark Urge stand before a choice: to finish the Rite of Mephistopheles and make the vampire spawn the most powerful vampire ever undead, or to squander the opportunity and reap the meager glory of saving 7006 vampire spawn. Astarion has made his choice - but so has The Dark Urge. A battle of will against will follows, but not one of persuasion, compassion, or catharsis. Their budding romance won't survive it.
