A battered brain module with no capacity to listen to pleas for mercy, wide, empty optics with not half a light behind them — the most perfect, dedicated spy the group could have ever asked for.

Beneath the slits of his mask, Dominus could sense Tarn’s optics were wide with mania, a sick glee one would grow to expect from Helex or Kaon first. The knife caught a dim light from the ceiling, its blade sharpened for this very purpose as Tarn brought it close to the plating on Dominus’ left shoulder. “The best screams always come from someone who’s said a tired line like that.”
