Summary
The prison dimension was designed to contain. Every piece of it has warped to that purpose, even time itself. Time doesn't work linearly in that place - It ebbs and flows, loops around, and in general, is a whole mess.
So when Leonardo stumbles out of the Prison Dimension a five-year-old, his brothers don't really know how to react.

He could remember the topic of his dreams but pressing further than that would result in him shrugging and shifting the conversation to something he did know about. That's probably what infuriated the softshell the most about the entirety of it all; He didn't understand it one bit. He couldn't seem to see the same world his brothers saw naturally. ''

Summary
Growing up in the resistance, you begin to notice any glint of light around you - whether it's your friends, the possessions you carry with you, or even your family - searching for hope was almost like a pastime for those within the resistance. Casey had noticed the stars when he started going out on missions. They functioned like a compass and a calendar at the same time. Functional, and beautiful. The thing that Casey liked most about the stars, is that they always came back, night after night, consistently lighting up the night sky with a plethora of colors.

Casey has some trouble adjusting to this new world, but luckily he isn't alone.

The little box turtle giggles while jumping on the couch, making the springs squeak and echo throughout the lair. The snapper, bless him, does the best of his ability to shelter his brother with his casted arm filled with fading doodles.

His brothers help in their own way, until he’s ready to hug again.
(Or, the transition from no hugging to hugging takes time. Donnie’s brothers will always wait for him.)

As someone who is very touch-averse, especially on bad days, this was comforting to read. The characterizations are pro, and watching the shift from no hugging to hugging was really nice.10/10 would read again and remind everyone how establishing healthy boundaries might be scary, but it's worth it in the long run.
