“You’ve reached Leonardo. Please leave your message after the beep.”

Straight to voicemail. They must be out of the city already.

    Just my luck.

    “beep!”

“Leonardo. This is Leatherhead speaking. I uhm, apologise for the inconvenience, but there is a major–”

    “–Stop doing that, Mikey!”

The little box turtle giggles while jumping on the couch, making the springs squeak and echo throughout the lair. The snapper, bless him, does the best of his ability to shelter his brother with his casted arm filled with fading doodles.

    “…problem, at the moment.”

Two things Donnie knew as absolute fact (even if there were not, in actuality, fact):

    1. Understimulation strikes nearly as hard as overstimulation, just much less often, and he has no idea how to deal with it this time.
and 2., he happens to cohabitate with a giant weighted blanket of a turtle.

"He looked up to the ceiling. “Can you believe it, mother? Your crazy little Yoshi who ran around causing trouble… and thought his call in life was to be a stupid movie star... He’s—” He again looked down at the little one in his arms, warm tears beginning to blur his vision.

He hiccuped. “He’s a father. And he loves his babies so much. Isn’t that crazy?'"

At two different points in time, Splinter finds himself caring for a sick Leo, which causes him to reflect on fatherhood and love.

“So,” Casey frowns at the plate in front of him, resisting the urge to poke at it, “this is a cookie?”

Leo snorts, taking a seat next to him at the table and pulling the freshly baked cookies towards him. They just came out of the oven according to Mikey before he ran out the kitchen to alert the rest of the family.

“A chocolate chip cookie, to be precise, my dear Casey."

Just a short fic request I got on tumblr for "Casey and Leo family fluff", which I am happy to deliver !

Donatello suffers from sensory overload after the Kraang invasion. He’s always had difficulty with touching, but suddenly it’s become so much worse.

His brothers help in their own way, until he’s ready to hug again.

(Or, the transition from no hugging to hugging takes time. Donnie’s brothers will always wait for him.)

THIS IS SUCH A GOOD READ, GO READ IT RN, DONT EVEN THINK ABOUT FINISHING MY REC BOOKMARK >:( /j
As someone who is very touch-averse, especially on bad days, this was comforting to read. The characterizations are pro, and watching the shift from no hugging to hugging was really nice.

10/10 would read again and remind everyone how establishing healthy boundaries might be scary, but it's worth it in the long run.
