After an explosion that destroyed the lab they were created in, Raph and Leo were raised by warrior scientist Baron Draxum and aristocrat Big Mama. After being chosen as Draxum’s heir Raph struggles to live up to the expectations while Leo, bitter with resentment, turns toward rebellion and illegal activities, particularly his prodigious talent for gambling in the Hidden City.

It hasn't been long since the Kraang and everybody's wounds is still very open and inflammed.
Raph has a small chance of getting permanently blind in one eye, Donnie hasn't really been talking, Mikey's hands are shaking and Leo's got a terrible looking crack on his shell, hasn't been walking right and developed an alcohol addiction to cope with... well, everything. Oh, and he's clearly got PTSD.
Leo is terrible at communicating, but it gets so much worse after he refuses to admit he's got a drinking problem.
This is one of those kinds of stories. -
