Summary
Billions of years ago, the Krang began the process of opening a rift between their dimension and Earth, leaking Empirium into our world. This caused the fauna to mutate and grow to immense sizes. These giant creatures would be known as "kaiju."
Now, in a world where Kaiju of varying sizes are the norm, the KDF (Kaiju Defense Force) fights tirelessly to defend humanity from these creatures. Despite having a common enemy, politics still get in the way of human safety. Resources are spread thin and those who live away from large cities are left to fend for themselves.
Dr. Baron Draxum has decided to change that.
The plan was to mutate four baby turtle Kaiju into soldiers that would imprint on him and follow his orders
Things didn't go as planned.
A now freed Hamato Yoshi adopts the mutated kaiju and attempts to raise them. However the children outgrow him and his home very quickly and he has no choice but to go to KDF for help.

This is an alternate universe where instead of yokai there are Kaiju. The turtles are giant heroes that defend humanity.
This is them attempting to live in a world that is too small for them but they will take big places in the hearts of everyone. -

Summary
As much as Donnie would like to be a robot and simply keep working and advancing, they were cursed with a human body. A human body with emotional and physical needs. Suddenly, their mode dropped, along with their productivity, and Donnie came to the horrifying conclusion that they were lonely. They missed Mikey’s home cooked meals, now sometimes going far too long without eating. They missed Raph’s enthusiasm and spending time with him. They were even loath to admit they missed Leo’s dumb jokes. And staying up late with Leo when neither could sleep. And ranting to Leo about their day. And listening to Leo’s absurd Jupiter Jim theories. And Leo nagging them about wearing their back brace.
God, Donnie missed their twin.
(Or: Donnie suddenly starts struggling emotionally and physically while in college, but it's a good thing Tim likes to insert himself in other people's business! If only he could help with the random seizures and memory gaps Donnie has been having. A story about college, family, surgery recovery, gay idiots, and Donnie being bad at self care.)

A story that follows unraveling the mystery of a sister counterpart being displaced from her dimension as the Rise brothers and their family endeavor to lend their aid. In pledging to get her home, they also promise to help solve the crisis her New York is facing, leading to many encounters with both old and new faces. A new set of siblings, a new set of circumstances - one big family coming together to face their greatest threat yet.
Heavily focuses on themes of learning to love oneself, forgiveness, overcoming trauma, and strengthening familial bonds. Features many Rise-ified characters from various iterations, insert artwork for specifc moments (chapters 18, 24, 31, 39, 50, and 76 currently), and is planned for four major arcs. Arc One spans chapters 1-18, Arc Two chapters 19-49, and Arc Three chapters 50-68. Arc Four is ongoing.

This was probably the closest one could get to peaked-as-a-teenager, burnt out former gifted kid syndrome when they were a mutant ninja turtle.
Sure, they'd defeated the Shredder and the Krang, but that was about 20 years ago. Ever since then its been nothing more than petty crimes and supernatural shenanigans and, well, that wasn't really fulfilling. At least, not anymore. No big bad guys, no more "save the world" schemes...
Not that Donatello wanted to save the world again, that was stressful and traumatic enough for everyone the first time. Well, he would if he had to, I mean, that's what superheroes do, right?
They don't just sit around trying to keep themselves busy, trying every hobby under the sun, waiting for that spark to come back, just going through the motions, letting themselves be miserable...
...right?
Thats what he thought until people started disappearing and someone started making new mutants.

As the bullet collides with Leo’s right bicep in what feels like slow motion, for some reason all he has the ability to think is that it looks sort of…strange. Strange, because as it plunges into his skin, it injects not glowing blue, but…purple. If it is a de-mutanizer, it’s a different color than he remembers.
The shock of it makes him stumble. Deep in his core, he feels the chemical begin to force him to change.
“What did you do to me?” He says, eyes going blurry as he sinks to his knees. He can feel his bones rearranging beneath his skin, he feels his body shrink in on itself as he becomes smaller. He feels weaker. “What did you do?” He can barely look at Kendra, but his eyes find her and she’s smiling in a sickening way.
“I fixed you, freak. You’re human.”
AKA: leo gets turned into a human and doesn't like it.
