Summary
When Rocky came back from the space mission to save the stars, Adrian expected he'd come back different. Such experiences can't leave you unchanged.
What they didn't expect was that the change wouldn't just be the wounds and broken bits of his carapace, but something deeper. They also didn't expect that Rocky would bring along an alien life form that he ended up loving so dearly.Or: Adrian finds out their mate is freaky, and their mate’s alien mate is also kinda freaky and then decides what they feel about all the freakiness.

During one of their talks, Grace and Rocky find out both their species had evolved as predators. Rocky can't believe the squishy-bodied human could ever hunt any prey, Grace insists, so they play a game of hunting to settle this debate.
Story inspired by a comic made by @bluemuffindraws on insta, wich was inspired by a tumblr post.

Having Grace sacrifice himself so many times for Rocky, it was only obvious that Rocky would come to deeply admire and cherish his alien friend. However, he didn't expect how strong would be his feelings. And how disturbing.
After so long away from eridian society, Rocky lets himself feel things he never thought possible.(Or: Rocky finds out he is a freak.)

To Grace's knowledge (i.e. the Hail Mary's database, i.e. all of human knowledge), there have never been any studies done to confirm whether ambrein (a derivative of sperm whale digestive secretions!) actually functions as an aphrodisiac in humans or not.
Well, 15.8 light years from Earth, he's about to find out. Because the cytoplasm of Taumoeba consists in large parts of a triterpene alcohol that is startlingly similar to ambrein — and baby, he's all out of coma slurry.
