Summary
Three years have passed since the Dragonborn's Peace. There is skirmishing in High Rock and Hammerfell against the Thalmor, but as yet no large renewal of the War. Meanwhile the location of the Dragonborn himself is known to no one. Yet there are those who are searching for him and his companion.
At the same time, Brelyna Maryon, Wizard of the College of Winterhold, is engaged in research that leads her eventually to the island of Solstheim. Only she does not go alone.
Part 3 of "Dark Skies and Dragonfire." Part 1 covered the Dawnguard story arc; Part 2 dealt with the main questlines. This one will loosely follow the events of Dragonborn and conclude the story.

Summary
It has been 5 years since the mishap with the Elder Scroll sent the Dragonborn to this new world. 5 long years since he'd seen his homeland of Tamriel. The magic of the scroll transported him to a new world, in some ways similar to his home, but in others, so very different. This new realm of Thedas was full new mysteries and dangers, and a long history of conflict. Every desperate attempt to return home ended in failure, and the Dragonborn finally resigned himself to his fate of being stuck here forever. But then Kirkwall's Chantry was destroyed, the Circles of Magi fell apart, and the Mage Rebellion began.
As the war was quickly going nowhere for either side, and the bodies began to pile up, the Divine called together a conclave at the Temple of Sacred Ashes, the most holy of places for the religion of the Maker. For some reason he did not understand, the Dragonborn decided to attend this conclave, believing the reason behind his presence in Thedas was soon to be revealed.

Vigdis glanced at Serana. Her cold, ice-blue eyes met persimmon ones and swirled with unspoken questions, her eyebrows still dipped in anger. The vampire glanced over her face—and froze when she spotted the cut on Vigdis’ pink lip.
“You’re bleeding,” she whispered.
Vigdis looked away, her brows slightly furrowed. She instinctively stuck out the tip of her tongue. It grazed over the wound, stained with the bright red ichor, then darted back into her mouth. She raised her arm and wiped the saliva onto her freckled wrist.
Serana tore her eyes away from Vigdis’ mouth, but it was far too late. Her face was aflame, the image of her tongue and bloodied lips burned into the back of her mind. She chewed the inside of her lip and turned away from Vigdis, her gaze now focused on the teal barrier that still raged around the trapped Moth Priest.

Summary
Everyone believed the Last Dragonborn dead these last few years, after he fulfilled the prophecy and defeated the World-Eater in Sovngarde, and shortly thereafter ended the brutal Civil War that plagued Skyrim, before disappearing from the world.
Although he is done with the Divines, it seems that the Divines yet again have plans for him. For out in the frozen tundra of the Eastmarch Hold, an incident drags a benumbed hunter into confronting reality as he is drawn into another world-ending prophecy, this time involving the nocturnal beasts of the night.
Sometimes, you have to settle the ghosts of your past before you can have a future.
